The Scioto Right to Life (SCRTL) works locally to educate the public on pro-life issues. SCRTL is an affiliate of Ohio Right to Life (ORTL), the state affiliate of the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC). ORTL works through the peaceful and legal means of education, legislation, and politcal action to restore legal personhood to the unborn and to protect the lives of medically vunlnerable persons, including infants, the elderly, the disabled, and those suffering from chronic or terminal illness.

ORTL is working for an Ohio where every child is welcomed into the world and protected by law; where every pregnant mother receives the help she needs to face an unplanned pregnancy; and where every terminally ill person has access to decent pain relief and is protected from being killed by euthanasia and assisted suicide.

Ohio Right to Life’s mission statement is to promote and defend the right to life of all innocent human beings from the time of fertilization until natural death by eliminating practices such as abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia.

Officers of Scioto County Right to Life include Rev. Robert Coffey, President; Cindy Craft, Vice President; Angie Duduit, Secretary; and Father Joe Klee, Treasurer. Scioto County Right to Life was formed in 1973.

Annually, pro-life supporters come together to pledge their support for life in a number of ways. They help to buy full-page ads in the local newspapers each January. They staff the SCRTL booth at the Scioto County Fair in August. They walk in support of life at the annual River Days parade in September, and they stand to show their support during the SCRTL Life Chain on the first Sunday of every October.
